After purchasing an iPhone, you probably added an Apple Watch and AirPods to your lineup thanks to all the great features of the Apple ecosystem. But at the end of the day, or while on the road, you’ll need somewhere to charge the devices.
The MagGo is compact, portable, and ready to charge. When not in use, the charger is a little larger than a deck of cards. It weighs just 6.9 ounces and measures 3.5 inches long, 2.36 inches wide, and 0.98 inches deep. It’s available in either a black or white finish.
Before getting started, Anker includes both a 6-foot long USB-C cable and 40W power adapter. That’s especially laudable when the large majority of manufacturers with charging stations just provide a short USB-C cable at most, leaving you to provide your own adapter and longer cable.
A small light near the USB-C cable input will let you know that the charger is receiving power and ready to go.
On top of the charger is the phone charging disc. Along with being MagSafe compatible, it uses the Qi2 charging protocol. So, with a MagSafe Phone or compatible Android handset, you’re able to charge at a maximum possible speed of 15W.
Anker says the charger is capable of juicing up an iPhone 15 Pro from 0 to 20 percent in 15 minutes. And in my testing, I was able to go from 0 to 20 percent on my larger iPhone 14 Pro Max in around 25 minutes.
With the iPhone charger, you may also place your handset in the horizontal orientation to activate StandBy mode, which is great news for anyone who wants to charge their handset on a nightstand and see a clock and other information.
Under the iPhone charger is the Qi charger section made for your AirPods. My AirPods Pro 2 fir great, even with a bulky case.
When you’re ready to charge an Apple Watch, you’ll need to turn the MagGo over and pull out the watch charging disc. The hideaway design is a nice touch and helps save space when on the go.
With any compatible Apple Watch or Apple Watch Ultra, you can fast charge the wearable device. My Apple Watch Ultra 2 went from 0 to 80 percent in a little under an hour. That’s especially nice if you’re looking to use the Apple Watch for sleep tracking and need a full charge before bedtime.
Because the Apple Watch charging disc is on the back of the charger, you won’t be able to see the watch screen when in Nightstand mode, but that’s become less important with StandBy on the iPhone.
Perfect for Travel or Even an At-Home Charging
Anker has also done a great job focusing on an issue sometimes found with smaller chargers: overheating. With smaller chargers, I’ve occasionally run into issues where the charger and iPhone can get warm and even hot in certain situations. When that occurs, the iPhone’s charging speed will slow down. And if your iPhone senses it is too hot, it will stop charging completely.
There’s no need to worry about that with the MagGo. On the bottom of the charger, where the non-slip feet are located, there are a number of vents to help keep the charger cool. Anker also says its ActiveShield 2.0 checks the temperature more than 3 million times a day to make sure all of the devices remain at the optimal temperature.
While using the MagGo, the charger and devices never felt even slightly warm, even after a long charging session.
Thanks to its small footprint and lightweight, you might think the MagGo is just made for travel. But I used the charger for about a week as the main charger on my desk and really enjoyed the smaller size.

Overall, it’s very hard to go wrong with theAnker MagGo Wireless Charging Station(Foldable 3-in-1).
While there are a plethora of options available on the market, Anker definitely hits the sweet spot with a nice price right in the middle of the road of most options. The charging experience is perfect, and you won’t need to worry about any overheating. Even though it’s foldable and designed for travel, it is a great option for a full-time charger for any Apple user.
