Summary

WARNING: Contains gruesome images

Art the Clown has already proven himself as one of the horror genre’s most prolific slashers, but he’s becoming even scarier inTerrifier 3thanks to one important development that’s occurred over the course of the movie series.Art’s return inTerrifier 3comes on the heels of a sequel that saw him confirmed to be a supernatural demonic entity as opposed to a mortal serial killer. His preferred method of murder is far more gruesome than many of his slasher contemporaries; Art’s entire angle is inflicting as much pain and fear as possible via horrific mutilations.

The originalTerrifierflew somewhat under the radar as a low-budget horror cult classic, butTerrifier 2became a viral sensation after word spread that there was a scene so gruesome that people were fainting in the theater, known familiarly as “the bedroom scene.” That elevated Art’s status as one of the premier ghouls in all of modern horror, andDamien Leone, director ofTerrifier 3,has already promised a “new level of horror madness”. One factor above all will make Art the Clown even scarier in the demonic clown’s threequel than ever before.

Art’s “Family” Multiplies His Killing Power By Three

Art now has two other killers under his influence

Art the Clown has proven to be a brutal and (unfortunately for his victims) inventive killeracross twoTerrifiermovies and the 2013 horror anthologyAll Hallows Eve, which featured Art’s first appearance. However, while he may be immortal, he hasn’t shown an ability to appear in multiple places at once. That means he can only kill one victim at a time; find a way to avoid Art, you have a chance at surviving. Judging by some of thefirst horrifying images fromTerrifier 3, that won’t be the case for much longer.

Thanks to the viral word-of-mouth reputation that the movie developed,Terrifier 2made $15.7 million at the box office on a budget of just $250,0000.

Terrifier 3 Poster

Art had a mysterious companion inTerrifier 2who assisted with his intimidation and murder: The Little Pale Girl. With a face that looks similar to Art’s own inhuman visage, The Little Pale Girl seems to be equally immortal and demonic. In the teaser forTerrifier 3, it’s proven thatArt has built a family of frightening faces, as his victim fromTerrifier, Victoria Heyes, now seems to be doing Art’s murderous bidding. Given how much pain and suffering she has endured, it’s possible that the only reason she’s still alive is that she’s no more than a demon herself.

Why Art May Not Be The Scariest Terrifier Villain Anymore

His companion Victoria is more physically frightening

Victoria may in fact end up being even scarier than Art when all is said and dismembered inTerrifier 3. Played by Samantha Scaffidi, Victoria survived most of the carnage ofTerrifieronly forArt to catch her at the end and literally eat her face off. Since then, she has devolved into a disfigured, unstable patient in a mental health facility, but one who seems to be devoted to her tormenter, Art.The ending ofTerrifier 2saw Victoria give birth to Art’s head, implying that she helped resurrect him after he was beheaded by Sienna Shaw.

Terrifier 3is set to hit theaters on October 10th, 2024.

Victoria wrote “Vicky + Art” on the wall of her room (along with other horrific images and words), implying that they could be a dark and twisted version of the dynamic between DC Comics' Joker and Harley Quinn, where Victoria truly loves Art even though he’s responsible for the pain she’s endured.Due to her disfigured face, Victoria is an even more terrifying killer than Art, even if he is the diabolical brains behind the violent and evil “family” that he has created.Terrifier 3will see that family go to work on a new set of victims.
