Captain Americ and Daredevil Are Friends…Usually

The Two Heroes Have Vastly Different Philosophies About Crime Fighting

Captain America and Daredevil, while both heroes, have radically different approaches to fighting evil. Captain America is a clean-cut hero and a leader, whereas Daredevil is largely street-level, preferring to work in the shadows. While the two have largely been able to work through their differences, they have come to blows a few times. They first met inDaredevil#43, where a drugged Matt Murdock fought Captain America. The two would notably fight again during the epicBorn Againstoryline. While Captain America and Daredevil have not crossed paths recently, they most certainly will meet again.

During the firstCivil Warevent, Daredevil put aside whatever anger he had towards Captain America, and sided with Steve’s anti-Registration forces.

Batman vs Daredevil fight

Despite all the differences over the years between Captain America and Daredevil, the two have managed to find common ground. At their core, both heroes want what is best. They are both community-minded, although Captain America works on a much larger scope than Daredevil: Captain America embodies the spirit of an entire nation, whereas Matt is the champion of Hell’s Kitchen. During the firstCivil Warevent, Daredevil put aside whatever anger he had towards Captain America, and sided with Steve’s anti-Registration forces. Daredevil and Captain America can co-exist, but their differences in attitude make it difficult.

Daredevil Is Officially More Terrifying to Criminals Than Batman

Batman regularly uses fear and intimidation in his war on crime, but now Daredevil is giving the Dark Knight a serious run for his money.

Captain America Just Dealt a Low Blow to Daredevil

Can Captain America and Daredevil Truly Co-Exist?

But Captain America has not forgotten his rivalry with Daredevil, and his sarcastic remark in the preview shows this. Captain America knows Daredevil’s secret identity, and knows that he is a lawyer. Steve was arguing semantics with Sharon, much like a lawyer might do. Sharon called him out for these actions, suggesting he should have been a lawyer. WhileCaptain America’sresponse may seem to suggest a dislike for lawyers in general, his long-time rivalry withDaredevilgives the answer another layer, and speaks volumes as to how he feels about Matt Murdock.
