Everything Creature Commandos Reveals About James Gunn’s DC Universe

One of the events ofPeacemakerseason 1 that seems to be canon inGunn’s DC Universeis the outing of Amanda Waller’s activities with Task Force X, a.k.a. the Suicide Squad. Though Waller isn’t able to use human prisoners anymore, theCreature Commandostrailer reveals that she has a secret weapon, as the footage establishes she will use non-human prisoners. The story confirms that the Creature Commandos members have been a hidden secret for decades, but are now being utilized for Waller’s means.

Referred to as Task Force M, theCreature Commandosfootage displays a very different team that Waller is putting together in contrast to the Suicide Squad. Since this was the firstCreature Commandosteaser, an extended trailer or two is bound to be released during the fall as they lead up to their December premiere. Once more footage is released, it will give a deeper idea of what Gunn’s DC Universe will be like and how the Creature Commandos fit into the larger plans ofChapter 1, “Gods and Monsters.”

What will also be interesting to see with the first DC Universe project is how it sets up future releases likeGunn’sSupermanmovie, especially since Rick Flag Sr. will show up in the film next summer. But based on the early footage alone,Creature Commandosis already looking like a very fascinating idea come to life, and something that fits within Gunn’s wheelhouse, as he is known for pulling in more obscure characters from comics. Hopefully, moreCreature Commandosfootage will be unveiled sooner rather than later, as the world gets ready for a whole new DC Universe.
