A “What If?” image shared on social media via Instagram, Kakeru (@DBSKAKERU1) excels when coming up with never-before-seenDragon Ballscenarios that are then illustrated in an art style that rivals Akira Toriyama, to say nothing about the way Kakeru perfectly adapts canon events from the series too.

Previously drawing scenes featuringBroly achieving Super Saiyan Blue status, Trunks taking his rightful place as Prince of all Saiyans, and even Beast Gohan fighting a perfected version of Cell Max,Kakeru doesn’t miss when it comes to creating professional-levelDragon Ballfanart, with this latest piece proving that right yet again.

Orange Piccolo Takes on Perfect Cell Max in New Badass Fanart
Fanart Design by Kakeru (@DBSKAKERU1)
Dragon Ball Super: Super Herostepped away from the Goku and Vegeta-dominated stories of the past to focus on a resurgent Gohan and a paternal Piccolo as they come up againsta revived Semi-Perfect Cellin their attempts to thwart the remnants of the Red Ribbon Army. Taking on Cell Max in the film’s climactic brawl, a powered-up Orange Piccolo does battle with Cell and eventually helps Beast Gohan take the tyrant down for good. Yet,as epic as this finale was, many wished that Perfect Cell had appeared instead, with Kakeru’s fanart flawlessly delivering on that.
Swapping Semi-Perfect Cell for his perfect counterpart, Kakeru nails the character’s form to form transition, giving Perfect Cell aSuper Hero-accurate red, green, purple, and black color scheme as well as a porous club-like tail that shoots steam. Similar to how Cell Max bested Orange Piccolo in the movie, Kakeru draws an armless and unconscious Piccolo clenched tight in Cell’s hand, with Kakeru sketching Cell in a triumphant stance complete with a powerful stare that sells this new version of him in a way that makes fans lament over never getting to see the character like this on-screen for real.

Dragon BallFanart Depicts Perfect Cell Max Defeating Orange Piccolo
Since Kakeru (@DBSKAKERU1) has already produced fanart featuring both Gohan and Piccolo fighting Perfect Cell Max, the final piece needed to complete this trilogy of art is one showing them finally taking down the villain with a well-placed “Beast Mode” Special Beam Cannon. It remains to be seen what’s in store forPiccoloand his vibrant new transformation inproperDragon Ball Supercontinuity, but one thing’s for sure: he better get back to training just in case Perfect Cell Max ever rears his ugly head again.

Dragon Ball
From the creative mind of Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball is a mega multimedia franchise that spans back to the 1980s. Dragon Ball expanded quickly, starting as a serialized manga for Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan. It made its way overseas via manga and an anime adaptation that is enjoyed worldwide. Dragon Ball was the initial starting animated series that followed the adventures of the young Son Goku as he sought after the Dragon Balls. These mystical orbs would grant the wish of any who gathered them together. Then, the series would branch off into the immensely popular Dragon Ball Z, which followed Goku as an adult and featured high-intensity battles and Goku’s never-ending search to be the strongest. The series has also enjoyed several popular video game adaptations and continues to release several new animated series and theatrical films up to the recent popular Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
