Part 2 left viewers shocked by killing off Kwon Jae-sung during the Sekai Taikai, but that was only the beginning. This next handful of episodes saw the death toll grow higher as several villains finally got what was coming to them. Thankfully, the heroes ofCobra Kaimanaged to get through the finale with their lives. Still, one death in particular in season 6, part 3, was a somewhat bitter goodbye.

John Kreese brought a knife to theSekai Taikaiwith the intention of killing Terry Silver, but Kwon wound up dead instead. The start ofCobra Kaiseason 6, part 3, saw Kreese grapple with his responsibility in the boy’s death. He finally realized that his obsession with the “No Mercy” way of life was a problem, and this effectively led to all the deaths in these five episodes.
4Kim Sun-Yung
The Villain Who Started It All
Kim Sun-yung was John Kreese’s senseiin South Korea and, therefore, the root of all things “Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy.” In a sense, Master Kim is the reason for everything that went wrong in theKarate Kidfranchise. The old man continued to distort his students with his violent ideologies, and it seemed that the ancient man’s reign of terror would never end. However, Kwon’s death and Kreese’s big revelation inCobra Kaiseason 6, part 3, was the beginning of the end for Master Kim.
After Kwon’s death, Master Kim’s students returned to South Korea. Rather than take responsibility for the accident at the Sekai Taikai, the old man leaned even further into his violent methods. He even tasked his granddaughter, Sensei Kim Da-eun, with murdering John Kreese as punishment for dishonoring the dojang. However, like Kreese, Kim Da-eun recognized that her grandfather was poisoning their students. Rather than kill John,she fought and killed Master Kim Sum-yung. From that point forward, the new Master Kim led her students with strength, but also with kindness.

Terry Silver’s Henchman
Dennis de Guzman was first introduced inThe Karate Kid Part IIIas one of Terry Silver’s violent young henchmen. He helped Mike Barnes torture Daniel, trashing Mr. Miyagi’s Bonsai shop and beating the old sensei’s student up a handful of times. The character, played by William Christopher Ford, joinedCobra Kaias a legacy cast member in season 6, part 2, and he once again graced the small screen for part 3. Of course, De Guzman’s time was relatively short this time around.
Dennis de Guzman was the one who burned down Mike Barnes' furniture shop at Silver’s orders inCorba Kai.
Cobra Kaiseason 6, part 3, saw Terry Silver order De Guzman to kidnap Johnny Lawrence’s wife and daughter to ensure the Iron Dragons won the Sekai Taikai. Thankfully, John Kreese saw the look on Silver’s face while talking to the Lawrences and anticipated what the desperate man would do next.Kreese found his way onto Silver’s yacht and caught De Guzman at the top of the stairsbefore he could carry out Carmen and Laura’s kidnapping. It’s unclear whether Guzman died of a head injury from falling down the stairs inCobra Kai, but he was certainly dead following the yacht explosion.

Cobra Kai’s Most Despicable Villain
The beginning ofCobra Kaiseason 6, part 3, included the reveal that Terry Silver’s cancer had returned and he only had weeks to live. His primary goal after learning about his illness was to win the Sekai Taikai—one last victory before he kicked the bucket. For this reason, Silver momentarily united with the other senseis to get the Sekai Taikai going again, but the truce didn’t last long. When it looked like Iron Dragon would actually lose, Silver again turned to violent and illegal methods.
What Happened To Terry Silver In Cobra Kai
Terry Silver was Cobra Kai’s most significant villain for a while, but his reign of terror came to an end in season 5. So where is he in season 6?
Unlucky for Silver, John Kreese anticipated his old friend’s plan. Kreese found his way onto Silver’s yacht and was prepared to fight to the death to stop the man from hurting Johnny again. The violent battle ultimately resulted in some spilled gasoline near some oxygen tanks, and once things were lit up by Kreese’s cigar, the whole boat was blown sky-high.Silver’s death inCobra Kaionly came a handful of weeks before it would have otherwise, but at least this way, he died before he could do any more harm.

The Original Karate Kid Villain Redeemed
John Kreese was an overarching villain of theKarate Kidfranchise, but he managed redemption just before his death inCobra Kaiseason 6, part 3. Kwon’s death, combined with Johnny’s efforts to protect him from Silver at the Sekai Taikai, caused Kreese to reevaluate his many poor decisions. In one of the most heartbreaking moments inCobra Kai, Kreese and Johnny shared a heart-to-heart, but the man’s redemption didn’t really sink in until he gave his life to protect Johnny’s family.
While it was sad to see this villain go, his death was just about as badass as it could get.
Kreese was smoking one of his trademark cigars in the moments leading up to his death inCobra Kai, and it was precisely this that allowed him to blow up Silver’s yacht. While it was sad to see this villain go, his death was just about as badass as it could get. OnceKreese threw the burning stub of his cigar toward the puddle of gasoline, Silver screamed out, “No!“Kreese followed this up with his own last word, “Mercy,” rounding out their epic death with the old Cobra Kai mantra. It was the saddest death ofCobra Kaiseason 6, part 3—but damn was it cool.
