While we love to complain about Google tracking our online habits, sometimes the lack of privacy can come in handy. Google’s annual compilation of trendy products just dropped, so you can now access a “Holiday 100” list that includes the most popular tech items from 2024.

Check Out the Holiday 100 on Google Shopping

Google put its data tracking to good use with its Holiday 100 list, available on Google Shopping.Google’s The Keywordjustifies the yearly tradition with the statistic that “41% of holiday shoppers struggle to find the perfect gift due to a lack of inspiration.” That stat is not surprising, as the holidays present a unique challenge of finding meaningful gifts for everyone in your life all at the same time. Additionally, it can be hard to know what to ask for.

If you’re reading this, you might personally be a fan of the hottest tech, or you’re looking to impress the tech-obsessed in your life with a gift they’ll actually use. Google’s Holiday 100 list can help in both cases.

The Best Tech Items on Google’s Holiday 100 List

Below are the tech highlights that made Google’s trending gifts list.

Gaming Tech

According to Google, retro-style games were all the rage this year, and Google Shopping specifically recommends the classic “Simon” electronic handheld game:

However, not all gamers were looking to the past. Google also noted that searches for “ps portable” increased by 50% this year in the US. Hence, the Holiday 100 recommends PlayStation’s newest remote player:

Google identifies “retro” as a trending search when it comes to handheld games

Audio Tech

Reportedly, searches for “small portable speakers” increased by 75% in the US this year, so Google has suggested portable speakers from Best Buy as part of its Holiday 100 list:

It’s no surprise that searches for “earbuds” always spike during the holiday season in the US. Of course, Google chose not to include its rival’s earbuds on its Holiday 100 list, but it does suggest its own Pixel Buds:

Travel Tech

Google’s gift list includes the best tech for travelers, including e-readers and wireless charging stations. Regarding its e-reader recommendation, we might again be getting a one-sided statistic from Google. While there’s no mention of Amazon’s Kindle, Google suggests that the term “boox ereader” was searched at an all-time high this year in the US:

Home Appliances

According to Google, searches for “white noise for sleep” also reached an all-time high in the US this year, signaling that sound machines are more popular than ever. Google also reported that its own Nest Hub was the top searched “smart home” product this year in the US. These analytics suggest the following gifts are likely to be well-received in 2024:

As evidenced by a series ofprivacy-invasive air fryers, some kitchen appliances are too “smart” (technically-speaking) for their own good. That being said, people have been really into one technically advanced oven, with the search term “our place oven” increasing by 50% this year in the US:

Self-Care Tech

Technology that helps us pamper ourselves never seems to go out of style. Google’s Holiday 100 includes suggestions for this category, including the statistic that “foot bath massager” went up by 85% this year in the US:

Of course, while Google’s statistics are accurate and informative, they might not paint the whole picture when it comes to 2024’s most popular products. Google is still a company at the end of the day, which is going to favor its own products and leave out competitors.

That doesn’t mean that the Holiday 100 isn’t a great list. Considering the recentintegration of Gemini with Google Shopping, the company offers real resources to take the headache out of holiday shopping. At the very least, Google’s list is a great place to start, and you have another month to go down a more in-depth research hole.
