Summary
Hazbin Hotelcreator Vivienne Medrano reveals thatseason 2 and beyondwill explore more of Hell and the Overlords who rule over it while atSan Diego Comic-Con. The Prime Video animated musical comedy is a tale of Lucifer’s daughter, Charlie Morningstar (Erika Hennigsen) setting out to help rehabilitate and redeem the sinners of Hell. Following Heaven’s defeat in season 1, the hotel may be in the midst of reconstruction in season 2, but the powers that rule Hell are already shifting the hierarchy.
WithHazbin Hotel’slong-term future guaranteed, Medrano revealed toScreenRanthow season 2 will begin to explore more of Hell. With Vox (Christian Borle) and the Vees stepping into more of an antagonistic role, the creator confirmed the struggle for power would see the council of Overlords in season 1 become a major presence in future seasons, with Medrano eager to further explore Hell. Check out Medrano’s response below:

VivienneMedrano: Season 2 we get more Rosie with the other Overlords. We get more presence, I think, in Hell because what’s nice about season 2’s antagonist is that he’s a Hell character. That’s Vox. So I think we get more of a focus on that world because he’s also an overlord. So I’m excited for that. Obviously I can’t speak to [other parts of Hell], but I’m very excited, especially with seasons 3 and 4. I feel like that’s really where we can start to see even more because there’s just so much more runway. So I’m really excited about what other parts of Hell we can explore.
SR: I’m also a huge Helluva Boss fan, so I just want to see all of Hell.

VivienneMedrano: I know, right? Yeah, eventually I want to figure out how to every single aspect of this world to explore.
Even without Heaven’s interference, Hell will still change.
Hell itself offers plenty of challenges for the Hazbin Hotel’s staff.
WhileHazbin Hotelseason 1’s ending left two major threads for its Heaven’s cast to grapple with, Medrano’s response may hint that the brewing conflict between the two realms may unfold in the background. With Sir Pentious' (Alex Brightman) surprise acceptance into Heaven and Lute (Jessica Vosk) vowing revenge,Lilith being forced to handle her daughter’s plansmay be the only present element of that plot. But Hell itself offers plenty of challenges for the Hazbin Hotel’s staff.
8 Hazbin Hotel Characters We Want To See More Of In Season 2
Vibrant supporting characters from Hazbin Hotel including Emily the angel, Velvette of the Vees, and Cherri Bomb should appear more in season 2.
Though the Vees may be preparing to strike andAlastor (Amir Talai) furthering his own advances, Charlie’s stand may have also caused a headache for the Overlords. While Velvette (Lilli Cooper) pointed out her frustrations with the council’s passive stance on Heaven’s exterminations, her view may be one shared by the many sinners residing in Hell, with Charlie’s stand proving they don’t have to endure the bloodshed. As such, many Overlords may be at risk of by being usurped in futureHazbin Hotelseasons.
Despite Charlie’s good intentions, it is clear that her quest has far further reaching ramifications beyond her complicated family history. Although their villainous nature has set them up as the worst Hell has to offer so far, the Vees have emerged fromHazbin Hotelseason 1 as fan favorite characters, so many viewers may be pleased to hear Vox will be stepping into the shoes of the antagonist role. With Hell facing a power vacuum, the Vees' rise may leave further players emerging to challenge the Overlord’s for their territories.
