How to Send Voice Messages to Your Friends on PS5
Messaging your friends on a PS5 is an effective way to communicate without leaving the PlayStation environment. However, the way you go about sending a message leaves a lot to be desired. For instance, dropping a message with the on-screen keyboard and a controller is not the fastest way to message your friends on PlayStation 5.
Luckily, if you want to convey a quick message on PS5, instead of typing, you can send your friends a voice message instead. Here’s how.
How Do I Send Voice Messages via PS5?
To send a voice message on your PlayStation 5, start by pressing thePS buttonon your DualSense controller from the dashboard. In theControl Centerat the bottom, selectGame Base.
When the pop-up window appears, pressOptionsand selectGo to Game Base.
InGame Base, in theFriendstab, select the friend you want to send the message to. Then, selectSend Messageon the right side of the top menu.
In the chat window, select themicrophonein the bottom-left corner. If you don’t see it, make sure youupdate your PlayStation 5to the latest firmware version.
Select theRecordbutton to begin recording the voice message – your DualSense controller has a built-in microphone, so just speak into it, like you do whenissuing PS5 voice commands, to record. Keep in mind that you’ll only be able to record a 15-second voice message.
When you’re done recording, select theSendbutton to finally send your voice message.
Before sending the message, it’s possible to listen to it. If you don’t like how it sounds, or you made a mistake, just hit theRecord Againbutton to re-record the message.
