Its new features, which include meeting summary and chat compose, are now available via a free trial. Zoom takes a federated approach to AI, utilizing its own large language model, models from top AI companies like OpenAI and Anthropic, and even customers' models. This flexibility allowed Zoom to cater to diverse customer needs and deliver maximum value.

What Does Zoom IQ Offer?

Zoom Video Communications publicly announced the arrival of its AI in March 2023. On June 5, 2023, they launched the first set of features in select plans on a free trial basis. Here are a few things you may do with Zoom IQ.

Meeting Summary:Zoom Meeting hosts can now enable the meeting summary option to automatically summarize the meetings withoutrecording the conversation on Zoom. It uses Zoom’s own large language model for the task. Then it sends the summary via Zoom Team Chat and as an email to the host. you could further forward it to all the attendees or anyone who wasn’t available to improve productivity and team collaboration.

Team Chat Compose:Anyone using the Zoom Team chat can use the generative AI-powered compose feature in the chat. It utilizes OpenAI’s technology to draft messages based on the ongoing chat thread. You can also use it to change the message’s tone and length and ask for text suggestions. Generative AI is extremely powerful and can save you time in explaining things.

You can access the above features by going to Zoom’s admin console and opt-in for the free trial for each feature. However, these features are currently available for premium users only. Zoom has also announced the oncoming set of Zoom IQ features expected to hit the market in a few weeks, which are as follows:

Zoom IQ’s team chat compose

Email compose:You can harness the power of generative AI to draft emails based on context from prior Zoom Meetings, Zoom Phone calls, and email threads. This feature is currently available in Zoom IQ for sales which helps sales executives quickly follow up with customers based on the context of the previous conversation. The Email compose feature will be available generally in the coming weeks.

Zoom Team Chat thread summaries:It can be troubling to go through many chats when returning from a well-earned holiday. Luckily, Zoom IQ’s chat thread summary will allow you to summarize the whole conversation in a single click. Zoom aims to introduce this feature in the coming months. You cancreate a folder to organize Zoom chatsto avoid mixing things up.

Meeting queries:The meeting query feature allows users to ask questions about the ongoing meeting and receive an AI-generated response based on the context. The feature will help users catch up in case of late joining without disrupting the meeting flow. All you have to do is ask a question via in-meeting chat, and the generative AI will take care of the rest. You can expect to gain access to this feature in the coming months.

Whiteboard draft:A blank slate can often trigger a block reducing productivity and hampering idea generation. However, with the Whiteboard draft feature, it’s possible to now generate initial ideas based on text prompts to get a head start on your ideas. Zoom aims to launch this feature in the coming months.

Whiteboard synthesize:Collecting and categorizing ideas is tedious after a brainstorming session. Zoom IQ’s Whiteboard synthesize feature will cover the clutter for you. It automatically organizes the concepts into various categories for clean access, increasing productivity by saving time. The feature will be available for general use in the next few months.

Who Can Access Zoom IQ?

Zoom IQ is currently available for select plans only, including Zoom One packages (Enterprise Plus, Enterprise, Business Plus, Business, Pro) and select Zoom legacy bundles (Enterprise Named Host, Enterprise Active Host, Zoom Meetings Enterprise, Zoom Meetings Business, Zoom Meetings Pro). Ensure you get the latest update of the app to access these features.
