Keanu Reeves' Constantine 2 is reportedly in the works, and with James Gunn’s multiverse comments, the bar has been raised for the sequel.
When Could Constantine 2 Be Released?
The Script’s Timeline Informs A Possible Release Date
WithConstantine 2’s filming waiting for a script, the movie’s release date will depend on when it is delivered. If Reeves and company have a script ready by the end of the year, thenConstantine 2could go into production from early to mid-2025. If that were to happen, the chances of the DC movie being ready to be released in 2026 would be great.
However, sinceConstantine 2does not have the same time constraints as projects in the DCU should have, writer Akiva Goldsman could take longer to get the script just right. If the sequel’s story is only locked in 2025, the movie could potentially start filming by late 2025, which in turn would make a late 2026 or early 2027 release date forConstantine 2more likely.
Even if theConstantine 2script is completed this year and the movie starts filming in early 2025, a release in 2026 would not be guaranteed. That is due to Gunn, one of DC Studios co-CEOs, having said that the plan is for DC to release around two movies a year. 2026 already hasSupergirl: Woman of TomorrowandThe Batman - Part IIscheduled to be released. As such, the earliest Keanu Reeves’Constantine 2could be released might be 2027.
