On Tuesday, Logitech announced the release of its new MX Creative Console, an accessory that looks poised to compete with Elgato’s Stream Deck. Like the Stream Deck, the MX Creative Console allows you to customize smart LCD buttons to control apps.
However, the MX also offers an additional component: a wireless dialpad for smart analog navigation control. The $199 device is currently available for pre-order onLogitech’s official websiteand onAmazon. The planned release date is set for October 14th.

Adobe Creative Suite Support
With the MX, Logitech has also included support for the popular Adobe Creative Cloud suite. Which means you’ll get native control for apps like Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premier Pro.
Additionally, the analog dialpad allows video-focused content creators to achieve precise adjustments while editing their timelines. Logitech states the controller will work for both macOS and Windows PCs.
MX Creative Console vs. the Elgato Stream Deck
Since its release in 2017, the Elgato Stream Deck has been a fan-favorite device forTwitch streaming. And while the MX Creative Console appears dead-set on capturing some of Elgato’s market share, Logitech doesn’t look to be solely targeting the gaming community. Instead, the company seems more focused on the broader category of digital content creators.
In a quote given to 9to5mac, Logitech general manager of the MX Business Unit, Anatoliy Polyanker, states, “Digital creativity is undergoing a massive transformation, constantly evolving the way people create. The MX Creative Console is designed to help people redefine their workflow, enabling them to work smarter and faster.”
Designed for Creative Professionals
Despite what looks like the MX’s streamer-friendly design, it’s telling that Polyanker doesn’t explicitly mention streaming. Even the official Logitech MX Creative Console introduction video also appears more focused on creative professionals, including video directors and photographers. That’s a smart move on Logitech’s part, and it makes the MX Creative Console seem a bit more mature than its popular Elgato counterpart.
Personally, I’ve held off on purchasing a Stream Deck because it’s always felt more like a toy than a serious tool. Especially considering its prevalence in the video game streaming world. For folks like me, it’ll be nice to have a content creation tool on the market that feels just a bit more grown-up.
