Ultimate X-Men’s Young Heroes Desperately Need A Mentor
Hisako and her friends all need proper training to become X-Men
So far,Ultimate X-Menhas seen Hisako reckoning with her newly emerged mutant abilities while attempting to survive and thwart the evil machinations of a shadowy villain, presumed to be this universe’s version ofthe horrifying Shadow King. Along the way the shy but brave young mutant has collected a cadre of other young, female mutants as Hisako investigates the Shadow King’s motives and weaknesses. However, as of now, they area very disconnected group of untrained mutant high schoolers, and while they could probably go up against the Shadow King collectively, there is a good chance one or all of them would be injured.
X-Men
The X-Men franchise, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, centers on mutants with extraordinary abilities. Led by the powerful telepath Professor Charles Xavier, they battle discrimination and villainous mutants threatening humanity. The series explores themes of diversity and acceptance through a blend of action, drama, and complex characters, spanning comics, animated series, and blockbuster films.
The Ultimate Universe’s Shadow King is able to possess people and has already led several youth to commit suicide in Hisako’s city.Ultimate X-Men#7 starts a new arc, after a dramatic finale in #6, presumably where the collected mutants battle the Shadow King as a group for the first time. Now more than ever, the young women need a mentor. Kanon, this world’s Psylocke variant, appears to be a trained fighter with a “surprising amount of experience,” hinting that her mutant gift has been unlocked for some time. Hisako and her friends need all the help they can get, and who better to train them to fight against the Shadow King than a skilled telepath like Psylocke!

Peach Momoko Has Already Created A Popular Psylocke Variant
Sai from Demon Days is an amazing alternate-reality Psylocke
Peach Momoko already has some stellar experience creating alternate reality versions of Psylocke, with one such variant starring inDemon Days: X-Men, the first installment of Peach’s beloved Momokoverse. This variant, a feudal warrior named Sai, helped rid a small village of the monster Orochi, a massive snake possessed by a variant of Venom.Sai quickly became a fan favorite, with Momoko’s characterization of the folktale adaptation perfectly working for a Psylocke variant.
Hopefully, Kanon of theUltimate X-Menuniverse will be just as popular, seeing as Psylocke remains one of the most beloved mutants in modern comics. Hisako, Maystorm, and their new mutant friends may finally get the training they so badly need at the hands of Kanon, so they can finally become a real New X-Men team.
