Inevitable’s call sign stems from the fact that she always finds her target, even if it takes months or years. While she usually hunts people with a bounty on their head, the player is also a target she was tasked with hunting down. Inevitable even mentions the difficulty of following the player, as they are constantly moving from place to place.
While every player will eventually be found by the Trackers Alliance, there is special dialogue for players whotook the Hero Worship traitat character creation. This trait gives the player a companion called the Adoring Fan, who wants nothing more than to follow the Spacefarer everywhere they go. If he is allowed to join the crew,Inevitable will mention that she found the player because she eventually realized his ravings, while embellished, accurately detailed his hero’s whereaboutsat all times.
This means that the player is not the only one who hears the Adoring Fan’s praise.He seems to record their adventures and provide regular updatesabout the journey of Constellation’s newest member. If Inevitable could figure out he was telling the truth, then it is possible for other people to use the same source to track the player. This may be how Spacefarers with the Wanted trait are constantly being found if they also took the Hero Worship trait.

DuringStarfield’scharacter creation, players are allowed to pick up to three out of 17 possible traits. These traits can establish how the character was raised, what faction they were born in, and even whether they are introverted or extroverted. One of these traits, Hero Worship, is unique in that its effect on the player is not a constant passive trait, but a companion.
With the Hero Worship trait,a character with blond, spiked hair will find the player sometime after they reach New Atlantis. He is impressed by the Spacefarer’s defense of the miners on Vectera and wants to join the crew. Those who have played Bethesda’s other titles may recognize the companion fromTheElder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. In that game, a character who becomes Grand Champion of the Arena in the Imperial City will find a wood elf named Adoring Fan asking to follow them. This NPC would tail the player at all times, but would run away and hide during combat.
InStarfield, the Adoring Fan is similar in his views on the player, but not in his functionality. Whenever the Adoring Fan is on the ship or actively following the Spacefarer, he will offer endless exaggerated praise. An improvement overOblivionis that he can also carry the player’s gear and help out in combat. Luckily, players who missed the Adoring Fan in their firstStarfieldplaythrough can now choose the trait in New Game Plus.
