Skeleton Crewepisode 3 features a literal treasure trove of Easter eggs. Starring Jude Law as Jod Na Nawood and a crew of kids lost in theStar Warsgalaxy, episode 3 sees the new crew ofThe Onyx Cinderofficially coming together for the first time. Evading pirates and seeking answers about the lost world of At Attin, this new episode features some great references, including some major connections to Legends and the 1970s.
InSkeleton Crewepisode 3, Jod Na Nawood partners with Wim, Fern, Neel, and KB to escapePort Borgoand find the kids' lost homeworld. Needing a way off Borgo while also seeking the legendary lost treasure of At Attin, Jod is more than willing to let the kids think he’s a Jedi before his true intentions are eventually revealed.Keeping that in mind, here are 22 of the biggest Easter eggs and references to be found inSkeleton Crewepisode 3.

22Jude Law Is CRIMSON JACK
A Major New Alias Connecting To Star Wars Legends
Beyond the names Captain Silvo and Jod Na Nawood, it’s also revealed thatJude Law’sStar Warscharacter is also known as “Crimson Jack”. Crimson Jack comes from Legends, specifically 1977’s originalStar Warscomics from Marvel. In these stories, Crimson Jack was a key rival of Han Solo’s, having robbed Han and Chewis of their reward from the Rebel Alliance followingA New Hopewhich they had hoped to use to pay off Jabba the Hutt. However, Han Solo ultimately proved the better scoundrel and defeated Crimson Jack.
In the established canon, there was an issue ofHalcyon Legacywhere the titular luxury cruiser was ambushed by a pirate named Crimson Jack and his crew. However, this was much closer to the events of the sequel trilogy compared toSkeleton Crew. As such,it feels quite likely that the comics' Crimson Jack and Jude Law’s preceding Jack are two separate characters in theStar Warstimeline(perhaps being an inherited name such asThe Princess Bride’s"Dread Pirate Roberts").

21Jod Uses The Force In A Callback To Obi-Wan Kenobi
Just Like On The Death Star
Escaping the brig with the kids,Jod seemingly uses the Force to distract two pirates. This is not unlike when Obi-Wan Kenobi uses the Force to distract and evade stormtroopers on the Death Star inA New Hope.
20You Can Spot Hondo Ohnaka’s Ship At Port Borgo
The Katooni
As seen in the first two episodes ofSkeleton Crewand in this new episode, the ship of the infamous pirate captain Hondo Ohnakacan be seen right in the center.NamedThe Katooni, it looks as though the ship was part of the chaos Jod and the kids left behind when they jump to hyperspace inSkeleton Crewepisode 3.
19Jod’s Anti-Droid Attitude Is A Legacy Of The Clone Wars
Mirroring Din Djarin
It’s quickly established thatJod Na Nawood has a pretty big distrust of droids in general, not justThe Onyx Cinder’sfirst mate, SM-33. This likely stems from the widespread hate many droids faced in the wake of the Clone Wars, not unlike Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin inThe Mandalorian.
18Yet Another B1 Battle Droid
“Did We Win?”
Encountering the remains of a barely functioning B1 battle droid while searching for SM-33,Jod briefly turns on the Separatist droid before it falls apart. Hilariously, the B1 asks if they won, apparently unaware that the Clone Wars ended decades prior.
17A Familiar Voice From Benjar Pranic
Alfred Molina
While smuggling SM-33 out of Port Borgo, Jod encounters one of his old crew members who should sound familiar. An Ishi Tib named Benjar Pranic, this alien pirate is voiced by actor Alfred Molina. While Molina is likely best known for playing Doctor Octopus in Sony’sSpider-Manmovies, he’s also an accomplished voice actor as well.
16Faking The Force With Magnets
Like Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Haja Estree
When Jod leaves to save SM-33, the kids debate about whether they can trust him. While Wim says he must be a Jedi due to his use of the Force, Fern counters that the Force can be faked using repulsorlifts, tractor beams, magnets, or even really thin string.Interestingly enough, faking the Force with magnets was seen inObi-Wan Kenobiby Kumail Nanjiani’s character Haja Estree, a con man pretending to be a Jedi who helped fugitives evade the Empire.
15The Hyperspace Tricks Are So Very Familiar
Lightspeed Skipping, Holdo Maneuvers, and More
Despite being caught on a fuel line,The Onyx Cinderjumps to hyperspace all the samewhich results in mass chaos in their wake at Port Borgo. This is not like other unconventional lightspeed jumps seen in theStar Warscanon such as lightspeed skimming inThe Rise of Skywalkerorthe Holdo maneuver inThe Last Jedi.
14Yes, Star Wars Is Still Telling Us The Odds
Evoking C-3PO and Lobot
When Jod asks a still-awake KB if she trusts him, she responds that she’s calculated the low odds of him actually being a Jedi. This evokes C-3PO who often revealed the odds to his fellow Rebels in the original trilogy, as well as Lando Calrissian’s right-hand man Lobot, who similarly had cybernetic implants to help him calculate and process data.
13Skeleton Crew Uses Some Classic Sound Effects
Theremins For A Retro Sci-Fi Sound
Upon their arrival to meet with Jod’s old contact Kh’ymm, theremins can be heard inSkeleton Crew’sscore by composer Mick Giacchino. This provides a very classic and retro sci-fi sound. Theremins were also heavily used in the score for Marvel’sLokiseries.
