Summary
Star Warshas just offered a sneak peek of Jedi MasterVernestra Rwoh’shigh senate robes inThe Acolyte, signaling what could be to come in the show’s impending final episode. The Acolyteis set inthe High Republic EraoftheStar Warstimeline, which is considered the golden age of both the Jedi and the Republic. However, the show has yet to show the Republic Senate, despite making references to it. These brand-new robes for Master Rwoh could suggest this is about to change.
In an interview posted tostarwars.com, costume designer Jennifer Bryan provided unique insights into the styles ofThe Acolyte’smain characters and the meanings behind those looks. In addition to reflecting upon the outfits worn by Master Sol, Qimir/the Stranger, Osha, and others, Bryan highlighted the importance of Vernestra Rwoh’s high senate robes, explaining:

“She has a lot to carry. She knows things. She knows that there’s a lot of — the word I would use is a lot of duplicity — in what the Jedi did in the name of protecting the Force. She’s basically trying to manage and do damage control with the Senate.”
Bryan also intentionally added the High Republic Jedi Order symbol to the robes, making it clear that, even in front of the Senate, Vernestra is first and foremost a Jedi.

Who Is Vernestra Rwoh? The High Republic Jedi Master From The Acolyte Explained
One character from Star Wars' High Republic books is making the jump from page to screen. So who is Vernestra Rwoh and why is she in The Acolyte?
Vernestra Rwoh
Given that Vernestra Rwoh’s high senate robes were very thoughtfully and intentionally designed forThe Acolytebut have yet to make an appearance, presumably, Vernestra will be wearing them during the upcoming final episode. This would make considerable sense in light of the current state of things in the show. InThe Acolyteepisode 5, not only was Mae’s accomplice, Qimir, revealed to be the masked Sith called the Stranger, but also, Qimir decimated multiple Jedi, major characters Jedi Knight Yord Fandar and Jedi Padawan Jecki Lon among them.
Indeed, the episode 5 Jedi deathswere some of the darkest moments ofThe Acolyte, but they were also massive turning points in the plot. While a number of events have transpired in the two episodes since—including Vernestra taking a team of Jedi to Khofar to recover the bodies—it is the murder of these Jedi and the revelation about Qimir that still must be addressed by the Jedi Order. Logically, both things would need to be reported to the Republic Senate.
This would also make Vernestra the perfect person to go on behalf of the Jedi. With Sol and Osha both on their own separate paths and far from Coruscant and no other Jedi witness remaining, only Vernestra can provide insight into the horrible events of episode 5. Moreover, outside Jedi Master Indara, who was sadly killed inThe Acolyte’sfirst episode, Vernestra seems best suited to this sort of diplomatic work.
Vernestra seems best suited to this sort of diplomatic work.
It will be fascinating to see howThe Acolytewraps everything up in its one remaining episode, as that seems like an awful lot of ground to cover. The fact that the episodes are generally only a half hour to 45 minutes in length (although it isn’t confirmed that the final episode will follow that pattern) makes this even more perplexing. Even so, this update fromStar Warssuggests thatThe Acolytemay finally reveal the Republic Senate of the High Republic Era, a thrilling notion to be sure.
