Absolute Power#1 depicted Clark, Conner, and Jon Kent being attacked by one of Waller’s Amazos. By the end of the issue, it was revealed that Jon had been captured by Waller, who, with Brainiac Queen’s help, had begun transforming the young hero into a nightmarish fusion of technology and flesh. Issue #2 continues this disturbing transformation, showing thatJon’s body is now almost entirely cybernetic, with very little of his Kryptonian flesh remaining. Alongside the visual progression of the transformation, issue #2 also makes it clear thatJon has been thoroughly ‘reprogrammed,’ as he now attacks his fatherand the other heroes at the Fortress of Solitude without hesitation.

This results in a heartbreaking confrontation between Superman and Jon, where Clark refuses to fight his son directly. Instead, he tries to deflect Jon’s attacks while pleading with him to resist Waller’s programming. Despite Clark’s efforts, Jon remains unreachable and continues to assault his fellow heroes and his father. Realizing that Superman is putting himself in danger, the Flash intervenes to protect Clark.
