Creating or obtaining vector graphics can be difficult. If you have a raster image or a clear mental image, you can use vectorizer tools and text-to-vector tools to transform your image or vision into scalable, non-pixelated, high-quality vector graphics.
The Best Online Vectorizer Tools
Vectors are images made of infinitely scalable elements. Unlike raster images—such as photos or scanned drawings that rely on pixels—vectors use mathematical equations to ensure seamless scalability.
Due to thedifferences between raster and vector images, you can’t just save a raster image as a vector file, such as SVG or EPS. Instead, the image itself needs to be vectorized.
Using design technology and sometimes AI, it’s easy to vectorize raster images. Here are some of the best vectorizers you can find.
1.Vectorizer.AI
Vectorizer.AI is a free, all-in-one AI vectorizer tool and a go-to for vectorizing images. You can upload as many raster or bitmap images as you need and quickly download a vector. Its simple interface may look unappealing—it’s no design software—but it supplies great results in vector form, with no download limitations.
Along with some color options, you can also choose a drawing style, stacking, grouping, curve options, line tolerance, and gap filler before vectorizing your image. There are five different download formats for your vectorized image—SVG, EPS, PDF, DXF, and PNG.
2.Kittl’s AI Image Vectorizer
Kittl is a browser-based graphic design software that integrates many vector features. It has a subscription plan, but free Kittl users are granted 15 credits to use for many of its AI-based features, including Kittl’s AI Image Vectorizer.
Find the tool by selectingTools>Tools>AI Vectorizer. you’re able to also vectorize an image directly on a Kittl artboard.
When creating the vector, you’re able to choose between a black and white or multicolor result using the colors of your image. Once vectorized, you have the option to download the SVG file, or you can open it from a Kittl artboardUploadsfolder to further edit your vector.
3.SVG Converter
SVG Converter’s free image vectorizer is a simple but efficient tool. You can upload raster images in PNG, JPG, or PSD, and receive a vector in seconds.
You can’t change or fix your vector, but there are options for better results. You can adjust the background transparency, smoothness, layer type, or select custom color options—which restricts existing colors, you can’t add new colors.
Download your vector in four different formats: SVG, AI, EPS, or PDF. While this tool doesn’t offer anything fancy, it does the job relatively well.
4. Adobe Illustrator’s Image Trace Tool
If you’ve evervectorized your Procreate drawings using Adobe Illustrator, you’ll already know this technique.
Illustrator’s Image Trace is a customizable tool for tracing over any imagery—which is great for vectorizing images. While it can be laborious, Illustrator offers a high level of precision for your soon-to-be vector image.

5.Vectorizer
While the name is similar to our first entry, this tool doesn’t use AI for vectorizing. Vectorizer is a free browser-based tool that provides high-quality results when vectorizing your raster images.
Compared to Kittl’s AI image vectorizer—we used the same raster image for both—the results are better with Vectorizer. The text looks better, and the line work is more prominent.
This goes to show that AI tools aren’t always better than traditional digital software. You should test out your vectorizing options to find the best results.
6.Autotracer
Autotracer is another free vectorizer tool. It made our list because it offers a multitude of vector file outputs that aren’t found in other tools—such as DXF, FIG, and SK Sketch—along with the typical file outputs.
You can also vectorize an image via URL rather than directly uploading your own raster image. It has some advanced options for your vector, including color amount, line smoothing, de-speckling, and background options.
The results aren’t as smooth as other tools, but if you do require vectorizing directly from a URL or exporting into rare formats, Autotracer is a solid option.
The Best Text-to-Vector Generators
While vectorizing an existing image means you have expectations for how your vector should look, vectorizers often negatively manipulate colors, lines, and especially text. Creating a vector using text-to-vector AI software allows you to make custom vectors with high-quality colors, lines, and text.
The difference between a vectorizer and a text-to-vector tool means you may get some surprising results. Some text-to-vector tools create editable results—including text—for an entirely customized vector graphic.
Be wary of some text-to-vector tools, as some generate vector-style images and not vector graphics. This may result in a raster image that looks like a vector but cannot be used as one.
7.Kittl’s AI Logo Generator
Although Kittl has been mentioned for its vectorizer tool, it also offers a standout text-to-vector tool in its AI Logo Generator and Image Generator. These tools are some of manyways to create logos in Kittland the results are top of the range.
Kittl’s two text-to-image vector options work differently. The AI Logo Generator is more efficient and results in fully editable elements—you can move elements, change colors, and rewrite text. It will generate four vectors per prompt.
The AI Image Generator is a secondary option. For your prompt, choose a vector style with flat components. This allows you to change the color of your generated vector, but you won’t be able to edit text or move individual elements.
Kittl only allows you to export SVG or PDF files if you’re on the Pro plan or higher.
8.Illustroke
Illustroke is a premium browser-based text-to-vector tool. After typing your prompt, you can choose from 43 different styles. There are further advanced options for customization before generation.
Once generated, you’ll receive three variations from your prompt. You can download your vector graphic as SVG, PNG, or JPG—the latter two will lose vector scalability. You canupload your SVG to Canva and edit colors.
Illustroke doesn’t offer a free trial; however, you’re able to receive free tokens by messaging Illustroke’s social media accounts. You can buy 50 tokens for $6 or 200 tokens for $18.
9.Adobe Illustrator’s Text to Vector Graphic Tool
Adobe Illustrator’s Text to Vector Graphic tool is one of theAdobe FireflyAI features. To find the text-to-vector tool in Illustrator, go toWindow>Text to Vector Graphic (Beta).
By using a shape tool or selecting an existing element to be replaced, draw or select where your generation should materialize. With many vectorizer options, including AI-based and traditional models, it won’t take long to find a suitable method for vectorizing your images. Text-to-vector tools tend to offer much better results, but the downside is you can’t always generate exactly what you want.
