Summary
The world ofNarutois filled with many different types of jutsu that are both visually beautiful and powerful. Shinobi have mastered many techniques and even utilize a specific technique as their special move. Naruto and Sasuke each have a special move that has helped them see victory in many battles, but only one can be the strongest.
The Rasengan and Chidori have clashed against one other multiple times, but there has never been a clear victor. Whenever fans saw these two jutsu clash, it would cause a giant chakra explosion, often ending in a stalemate. The only time inNarutothat showed the difference in power between the two is when Naruto and Sasuke fought on top of Konoha Hospital. The abilities were different when both jutsu were redirected into the water tower. Both techniquesutilize various types of chakra manipulation, essential in comparing their strength.

The Power Behind Both Techniques
The Differences Between Each Ability
Fans saw both jutsu’s impact when Naruto and Sasuke used them for the first time.Sasuke used the Chidoriagainst Gaara in the Chunin Exams, breaking through Gaara’s impenetrable sand armor and making Gaara bleed for the first time. Chidori’s strength comes from the speed and precision of the attack rather than raw explosive power. It focuses the lightning chakra at the point of impact, delivering a concentrated piercing blow that can go through any defense. This attack helps target someone’s vital spots since it has a smaller impact zone than the Rasengan.
Unlike Chidori, the Rasengandoes not have any nature transformation or need any hand signs to use it. Later in the series, users apply their innate chakra nature to create a stronger version of it. Naruto did this when he added his Wind Nature to the Rasengan, creating the Rasenshuriken, which significantly exceeded the Rasengan in terms of power and force. Its strength relies on the blunt force of the jutus, which has a more direct impact on an opponent rather than piercing power. Because of the intense rotation of the chakra from the jutsu,it causes massive damage to whoever it hits, leaving their internal organs battered and causing them to be violently sent backward.

The Rasengan Has a Slight Edge
The Brute Force of the Rasengan Gives It the Advantage
The Rasengan resembles raw power and brute force, while the Chidori is about precision and a more concentrated attack. Deciding which overtakes the other is challenging, since they are very different attacks that can be utilized in various situations. Naruto and Sasuke honed each technique and made even more potent versions of them, making them even deadlier attacks. Sasuke’s Susano’o was able to useChidori infused with Amaterasu, which could overpower many of the different versions of Naruto’s Rasengan.
However, when Naruto received the power of the Six Paths, Naruto was able to create many different types of Rasengan and Rasenshuriken using the chakra he obtained from the other tailed beasts. The Rasengan edges out the Chidori in terms of power because of the damage it can cause when it makes contact with another individual. The Chidori can also inflict immense damage, but it requires the user to be very accurate when they strike. In the final battle between Naruto and Sasuke, a Chidori infused with Amaterasu flames was needed to match Naruto’s Rasengan in strength. If Naruto had enough chakra to use the Rasenshuriken, Sasuke would have lost more than just an arm.
