Summary
A lot ofDisney Lorcanacards have already proven their value in the market, but one that doesn’t currently command any impressive prices might be set to rise through the ranks in the future. As a collectible trading card game making use of iconic Disney animated characters,Disney Lorcanahasn’t had much trouble attracting a strong share of the TCG market. The game has had its ups and downs with initial supply issues and a lot of speculative buying and selling that’s since cooled off, but rare cards have remained a hot commodity.
As a card game that’s still in its relative infancy,Disney Lorcanahasn’t yet encountered too muchneed for permanent card revisions or bans. When a TCG runs for long enough, even cards that were balanced upon release might become broken thanks to how newer cards interact with them, ultimately leading to the original versions being removed from allowed tournament play. With the upcoming release ofDisney Lorcana’sShimmering Skiesexpansion, however, it looks like that track record will finally be changing.

A Cheap Disney Lorcana Card Is Changing Forever
Bucky - Squirrel Squeak Tutor Is Getting A Revision
As announced on the officialDisney Lorcanawebsite, the first card to receive an errata correction isBucky - Squirrel Squeak Tutor, released as part of the first expansionRise of the Floodborn. As an Uncommon card, the second-lowestrarity inDisney Lorcana, Bucky has never been difficult to acquire, but he packed a lot of utility into a card that only costs two lore. Bucky forces discards on opponents whenever the user plays a Floodborn character, and with the Ward ability that blocks challenges, he can be difficult to remove from the board in order to avoid further discards.
With theUrsula’s Returnexpansion, this power became especially problematic, andDisney Lorcanais now taking steps to address the problem.A new version of Bucky - Squirrel Squeak Tutor raises the cost to 3 while nerfing the card in multiple regards. Floodborn cards must be played with Shift to force a discard, and the Ward protection that previously made him so annoying is removed from the picture entirely. Future printings will stick to the new script, andDisney Lorcanapublisher Ravensburger is “looking for ways to make printed versions of the updated card available to players later this year.”

Changes for Bucky - Squirrel Squeak tutor will be implemented with the local game store release ofShimmering Skieson August 9.
Bucky’s Rarity In Disney Lorcana Will Only Increase
The Card Might Not Always Be As Easy To Get
When it comes to tournament play, only the new rules for Bucky will be allowed, so there’s no competitive advantage to be gained from possessing the original version. Considering it won’t ever be reprinted again, however, Bucky could easily become a curiosity as a relic of the game’s first year. In casual play, it could also still be easy to take advantage of its significant power, although it’s only fair to do so if both parties are on board with using a card that’s been errata’d for a reason.
There’s Only One Way To Get This Exclusive Disney Lorcana Card
An upcoming Disney Lorcana card will only appear in an unexpected package, and it has enough advantages to be worth paying attention to.
As an uncommon card, Bucky already has plenty of copies in circulation. It never featured in anystarter decks forRise of the Floodbornor later sets, however, so acquiring copies of the card was still a luck of the draw situation. With the news of its replacement,it stands to reason that the original card will gain some value compared to past prices, and its status as the firstDisney Lorcanacard to ever receive an errata change makes it historic for fans of the game.

Only time will tell if the unique draw of Bucky - Squirrel Squeak Tutor is enough to override its current lack of rarity, and as usual, it’s better to simply enjoy the game than to invest heavily in speculative purchases. It’s certainly a cool curio now, however, and it could be a nice conversation piece when playingDisney Lorcanasome years down the line. As a card that’s traditionally been cheap both to buy in the aftermarket and play in the game, Bucky - Squirrel Squeak Tutor is a surprising underdog to earn a unusualDisney Lorcanalegacy.
