Transformers One’s panel atSan Diego Comic-Conreveals that Starscream will serve as the film’s central villain, in addition to revealing his new voice actor. Directed by Josh Cooley, the latest installment in theTransformersfranchise is an animated prequel, chronicling Optimus Prime and Megatron’s early years on Cybertron, before they became mortal enemies. TheTransformers Onevoice castfeatures an impressive roster of actors, including Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax/ Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry as D-16/ Megatron, Scarlett Johansson as Elita-1, Keegan-Michael Key as B-127, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, and Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion.
It has now been revealed at theTransformers OneSDCC panel, for whichScreen Rantis in attendance, that Starscream is the main antagonist for the upcoming animated film.
The panel also reveals that actorSteve Buscemi will be voicing the iconic Decepticon character. Bescemi is best known for his roles inFargo,Reservoir Dogs, andThe Big Lebowski.

One of the most interesting aspects ofTransformers One’s storyis that it takes viewers back to a time before Optimus Prime and Megatron were engaged in a bitter war. Trailers have revealed that how this rift formed between the two Transformers is really the key premise of the story. Megatron, then, won’t be presented as a villain from the start, and the film could help to create a great deal of empathy for the character as he starts down this darker path.
