Summary

After progressing inStardew Valley, players will be given the option to build Pam a house, though players aren’t told what will happen if they decide to do so. The immediate result is obvious: Pam will go from living in her usual trailer to having a full house like the otherresidents of Pelican Town. However, players are asked to pay a pretty hefty price to undergo this Community Upgrade. Some players will likely wonder why they should fork over a huge chunk of their money for this upgrade when it seemingly won’t benefit them directly.

Even players who do want to help Pam may only purchase this upgrade once they have more disposable income. After all, there are plenty of other upgrades they may prefer to purchase first, like theReturn Scepter priced at two million goldthat warps players back to their farm.Building Pam’s house may be seen as a low priorityin comparison, especially if players don’t know the benefits of building it.

Building Pam A House Is Rewarding In Multiple Ways

Players Will Become Closer With Pam & Pam Will Be Happier

Building Pam a house inStardew Valleyis rewarding both on an emotional level and in terms of gameplay. When it comes to in-game rewards, players will get some extra hearts with Pamwhen they help build her house. This is true regardless of if the player chooses to reveal that they are the one who paid for her house during the cutscene of its reveal. Though players can more cheaply and easily gain hearts with Pam through other means, it is still nice to get a reward for the large sum of money players spent on the renovation.

Of course,Stardew Valleyis about more than just the types of gameplay rewards players get. As a life sim, many players also form strong attachments to the people in Pelican Town and begin to care about their well-being.Building Pam a house is rewarding on an emotional level for players, as they get to see her and Penny’s life improve significantly thanks to their new home. Though Pam isn’t perfect after receiving a new house, she does vow to turn things around, which is a good first step.

Players Need To Progress To A Certain Point In The Game & Pay Robin For The Construction

In order to build Pam’s new house inStardew Valley, players will need to have completed several prerequisites. First, players will need to havefully upgraded their own house. That doesn’t mean players have to purchase every additional room for the farmhouse, just that they have to get every base upgrade before they can start purchasing rooms à la carte from Robin.

Players will also have to finish all the bundles in the Community Centeror Joja Warehouse to unlock the ability to do Community Upgrades like building Pam’s house. This means it will likely take a little while to get to the point where building Pam a house is even an option. The project itself is also pretty expensive, meaning it isn’t feasible early in the game.

to build Pam’s house, players will need to bring Robin 950 wood, andthe project costs 500,000g. Even knowing that it will make them friendlier with Pam, and improve her and Penny’s lives, players may still be somewhat hesitant to shell out so much of their money. However, players who go through with it will unlock access to another Community Upgrade that has more of a direct impact on gameplay.

Players Get Access To A Very Helpful Upgrade After Building Pam’s House

Robin Will Create Shortcuts Around Town

Once players have paid Robin to build Pam’s house, and it is done being built, they can purchase a second Community Upgrade. This oneopens up shortcuts around town, making it easier for players to quickly traverse the map. This is very helpful for making efficient use of every day, and cuts down on the number of times players will accidentally fall asleep on the walk home.

These town shortcuts are also very handy on days when festivals are going on. For example, a festival in the main part of town would typically prevent players from getting between the beach and their farm. This is especially frustrating once players have unlocked Ginger Island, as it means wasting Warp Totems just to get around. However, the town shortcuts open up a path from the beach to Cindersap Forest, allowing players to bypass the town. This handy Community Upgrade is a great way forStardew Valleyto reward a player’s generosity after buying Pam a house.
