Marilda Kept The Identity Of Her Sons' Father A Secret

This information has yet to be disclosed in the show, butFire & Bloodreveals thatAddam and Alyn’s mother is Marilda of Hull, the captain of a cog namedMouse. Matilda is the daughter of a shipwright from Hull, withFire & Bloodsuggesting that she gave birth to her elder son when she was just 16 years old. In the book, Addam and Alyn both served on her shipMouse, butHouse of the Dragonseems to have changed that to reveal that the brothers instead worked on ships captained by their father, Corlys Velaryon.

Though she is alive during the Dance of the Dragons in Martin’s book, it’s beenimplied that Marilda may be dead inHouse of the Dragon. For instance, Rhaenys tells thesecretly silver-haired Alynthat his mother “must’ve been” beautiful, which could either be interpreted as suggesting that Marilda was beautiful when Corlys had an affair with her or was beautiful when she was alive.
